When you post a Performance Listing, you’re in complete control over how much you spend, when you spend it, and on which ad. Want to focus your promotion on a single ad? Or maybe you want to promote all ads equally? With Performance Listings, the choice is yours.
Cost controls are broken down by CPC, daily maximums, and total maximums:
CPC stands for “cost-per-click”. CPC is the amount paid when a buyer clicks on your ad from the search results page. If your ad appears in a buyer’s search result but they choose not to click on it, you will not be charged.
The higher the cost-per-click, the more prominently your ad will appear in the search results. Each category and location have an optimal CPC in order to be visible on page one. When you set your CPC, we’ll let you know what the optimal cost is for your ad.
The daily maximum budget is the largest amount of cost that your ad can accumulate in a single day. The minimum daily budget is $1.00, but you can set it as high as you’d like or turn it off entirely.
Example: If your CPC is $0.05 and you set your daily budget to $5.00, then buyers will be able to click on your ad 100 times in a single day. Once that maximum is reached, your ad will be paused until the following day. After 24 hours, your ad will automatically be activated again.
The total maximum budget is the largest amount of cost that your ad can accumulate over its lifespan. We require a minimum budget of at least $2.00 to ensure that your ad reaches its potential, but you can set this maximum as high as you’d like or remove the limit entirely.
Example: If your cost-per-click is $0.05 and you set your total maximum budget for an ad to $13.00, then buyers will be able to click on your ad 260 times over its lifespan. Once that maximum is reached, your ad will be paused until you increase the maximum budget for that ad. You will then be able to unpause the ad any time you choose.
Using these 3 controls, you can ensure that your ads are promoted just the way you want.
You’ll be able to set your budgets when you first post your ads. If you want to change it later on, you can update your budgets and CPC at any time. If you’re importing your ad from your regular Kijiji profile, they will automatically set with a $25 budget and then pause so that you can update the budget before choosing to activate. To update the budget of a specific ad:
You can also edit your CPC and total maximum budget directly in the ad manager by clicking into the CPC or Budget field and changing the numbers. When they’re set to your preferred amount, click the checkmark to save your changes.
To update multiple listings at the same time:
When you return to the Admarkt ad manager window, you should see the changes reflected in your ads.
